About

Hello There!

Well, first of all, thank you for taking a second to get to know me. That's sure nice of you!

I've been doing crafts since I was a little kid. I used to be more of a true crafty person with lots of fabric, staple guns, and an addiction to my hot glue gun. In college, my parents and I bought a 600 square foot fixer-upper, and my true love of DIY and power tools was born. My husband and I bought our first house about 10 years ago and gave it the nickname "Ugly House." We spent years renovating that home and learning skills I never thought I'd have (drywall anyone?). I am also the proud owner of a 1963 Holiday Rambler vintage camper named Myrtle the Aluminum Turtle. It's one of those fun projects that probably will never end.

My veterinarian husband, three amazing kids, and I now live on a 20-acre homestead in South Dakota. We own a veterinary clinic, and as a result, we have a full acreage. At this exact moment, we have five dogs, five cats, three and 3/4 goats (yes, one of our goats is three-legged), chickens, ducks, the most adorable baby doll lamb named Lambeau. I'm sure that list probably has grown since you started reading this. Follow our animals on Instagram @oakwood_acres

As a profession, I write contracts for a media company. My hobbies include daydreaming about crazy contraptions I can build, sketching them out, and trying to convince my husband they work. (70% of the time they do)

Wild and messy are probably the two words that explain our house, but we wouldn't change a minute. Life is a wonderful mess! Embrace it.

Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or comments. I love to hear from readers!
